Seasonal Allergies

  • Probiotics

It’s no wonder these days that our diet and gut health affects so many other areas of our health. Taking a probiotic can help heal your gut, balancing the microbiology, and lead to a reduction in seasonal allergy symptoms.

  • Raw Honey

Raw honey is anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant, which can aid in relieving allergies. If you get your raw honey from a local beekeeper, it’s even more helpful because it was made using local pollen that may be causing your allergies to begin with. I know it sounds counteractive, but it can help “desensitize” your body to the pollen over time.

  • Nettles

Nettles can affect receptors and enzymes associated with allergies. They can be taken as a capsule or made into a tea!

This herbal tincture contains nettle leaf, elderberry, dandelion root, black pepper, and turmeric root. My husband and I have both used this tincture with great relief for allergies and sinus congestion!

  • Turmeric

Turmeric can be taken as a powder in capsules. Turmeric contains curcumin which may inhibit histamine, reduce inflammation, increase nasal airflow, and support the immune response.

Cold/Flu

  • Colloidal Silver

Colloidal Silver is known to be anti-viral and anti-bacterial. You can add it to your tea, water, nebulizer, or neti-pot.

This herbal tincture contains mullein, dandelion root, and fenugreek seed. These herbs are known to support lung health, clear mucus from the body, and are anti-inflammatory.

  • Eucalyptus Essential Oil

I put a few drops of oil on a washcloth and take it in the shower with me. It’s like having my own little shower bomb to help relieve congestion with eucalyptus’s cooling properties.

  • Mullein Tea

Mullein is an herb, or some may see it as a weed, that you could probably find in your backyard! It is anti-inflammatory and an expectorant. Mullein helps rid the body of excess mucus while supporting the respiratory system.

  • Nebulizer

Nebulizing a normal saline mixture, colloidal silver, or hydrogen peroxide is a great way to keep the airways moist and open. Colloidal silver and hydrogen peroxide can helps kill viruses and bacteria that are living in the airways and lungs. I personally have experienced a much faster cold with nebulizing colloidal silver!

  • Neti-Pot

Sometimes our sinuses need a little help clearing out the thick mucus that just doesn’t want to budge. A neti-pot is a great tool for aiding in congestion relief. You can even use herbs to add medicinal properties!

  • Sinus Saver

Eczema

  • Adjust Diet

Eczema is almost always caused by your diet. Keep a food journal and track what you’re eating and drinking. Look for patterns as to what you’re consuming and when the eczema flares up or worsens.

This herbal salve contains apricot oil, mango butter, calendula flowers, palm-derived glycerin, and candelilla wax. It soothes irritated skin and itchiness, stimulates collagen production, and is anti-inflammatory! This balm has worked wonders for my boys and husband.

This magnesium-based lotion also includes apricot oil, mango butter, shea butter, candelilla wax, and lavender essential oil. Good Night Lotion is anti-inflammatory, rich in antioxidants and vitamin A, and can reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Peppermint Essential Oil

Peppermint is a cooling herb and is known to relax muscles and relieve pain. The naturally occurring menthol stimulates blood flow. Be sure to dilute peppermint EO before applying it topically to your temples, forehead, or base of skull.

  • Water

One of the many signs of dehydration is a headache! Make sure you’re drinking enough water throughout the day to avoid an unnecessary ailment.

Indigestion

An herbal tincture safe for all ages. It contains fennel seed, ginger root, and catnip, promoting gut health, soothing upset stomachs, and easing GI distress.

  • Lemon Water

Add a slice of lemon to your water and sip away! The citric acid in lemons can help relieve indigestion and reduce the risk of constipation.

  • Papaya Enzymes

Papaya contains papain. Papain is a protease, a natural digestive enzyme that helps break down proteins.

  • Peppermint Tea

Peppermint is known to calm nausea and indigestion by calming the stomach muscles and improving bile flow.

Insomnia

  • Good Night Lotion

  • Herbal Teas

There are so many “sleepy time” teas out there with herbs ranging from chamomile to lavender to valerian root. I highly recommend giving them a try. It can take some trial and error to find the one you enjoy and works. I particularly like a combination of chamomile and lavender.

An herbal tincture with catnip leaf, skullcap, and passionflower. This blend promotes a calm mood, relieves anxiety, and soothes the nervous system. It has easily become part of my bedtime routine!

Sore Muscles

  • Heat Therapy

Heat not only relaxes tight muscles, providing some pain relief, but heat always increases blood flow to the area which can speed up the healing process.

  • Frankincense Essential Oil

Frankincense oil has analgesic effects, reducing pain sensations. Be sure to dilute it.
